Art Museum Wayfinding

At Boston University, we were challenged to design an innovative signage system for a new contemporary art museum in Boston, focusing on enhancing visitor navigation and overall experience. My proposal featured a bold and unconventional system that combined vivid colors and intuitive wayfinding to foster engagement, ease of movement, and a sense of exploration throughout the museum. The designs drew inspiration from the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City, incorporating its minimalist architectural style and contemporary artistic pieces to create a cohesive and modern visual experience.

I developed a color-coded system to guide visitors dynamically and comprehensively through the museum's floor levels. The system utilized vibrant tones contrasted with black to create a striking, avant-garde aesthetic while ensuring clarity and ease of navigation.

A clean sans-serif font was chosen to maintain a friendly and approachable style, complementing the rounded, minimalist shapes of the pictograms. This combination added a playful and engaging touch to enhance the audience's orientation experience.
